Happy Valentine’s Day!

We celebrated Valentine’s Day at home with WINTER OLYMPICS 2022 and legendary pastrami shipped from Katz’s Delicatessen in New York. We cooked/steamed a whole pastrami (about 4 pounds) and built sandwiches on rye bread (mustard, no mayo) with dill pickles and homemade fries. Lots more for the rest of the week!

Another “classic” (for breakfast) is pastrami and scrambled eggs, a dish I first tried at the infamous “Wolfie Cohen’s Rascal House” deli in Miami when I was a reporter at the South Florida Sun Sentinel in the late ’70s/80s. It was quintessential “Old Florida.” More details here on Wolfie Cohen’s: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfie_Cohen%27s_Rascal_House
