“This recall petition is unwarranted, is a waste of your government’s time and a waste of your taxpayer dollars,” states Nevada County Supervisor Ed Scofield (a staunch political conservative, by the way) in a statement reprinted in The Union.
Adds Dan Miller (another staunch political conservative): “This recall is an emotional response and desperate effort by a fringe minority who did not get their way. Their allegations lack credibility and do not withstand the test of truth.”
“This recall is divisive, expensive and unnecessary. It will cost District 4 taxpayers up to $250,000, money better spent on fire safety, schools and supporting local businesses,” added Sue Hoek, who represents conservative Penn Valley.
The other two supervisors — Heidi Hall and Hardy Bullock — echoed similar sentiments.
The rest of the article is here. And now a quiz:
- “Oh, what a tangled web”!
- What a learning experience for our county’s conservative block.
- “Careful what you wish for.”
- All of the above
It’s weird how I have been nagged by conservative posters in the past and yet here I am agreeing with the supervisors – including the conservative ones. Go figure LOL!
Thanks Jeff for shining a lite on this. For the quiz my answer is 4.
“A Nevada County judge has approved a temporary restraining order on behalf of elections office employees against three supporters of the recall effort against the Board of Supervisors.”

I applaud that decision. Do these people go to someone’s home and behave like that? What’s with the ill-mannered shoving one’s way through the door? Seeing this behavior and their lawyer who’s behind it there is no way I will sign their petition. They can go bully each other like that for all I care
