The Union lets a “few dozen” people guide its front-page news judgment. Argh.

A few dozen people gathered Wednesday at the intersection of Brunswick Road and Sutton Way in Grass Valley to take part in a “Stop the Steal” pro-Trump protest while the U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C., was stormed by rioters opposing the election of President-elect Joe Biden,” The Union reported in a Page One, above-the-fold news article.

How’s that for sending “A Clear Message” about editorial bias?

  1. The local thugs are Elias Funez’ assignment editors. The Union’s choices are appalling. They never miss an opportunity to plaster pictures of blue flags on their front page, never mentioning that “the other side” is staying home sensibly and therefore cannot create flashy optics.

  2. After the fascist Trumpian storm troopers took over the Capital on Wednesday with all their Trump flags, and even a Confederate flag waving around, I don’t think anybody can look at our little local band of sad sack Trump supporters the same ever again. I never thought the GOP would come to be such a anti democracy party and complete suckers for conspiracy nonsense, but here we are. And all for Donald Trump, who doesn’t give a damn about any of them.

  3. I think the larger question here is what motivated millions of voters and tens of thousands of trump supporters around the country to actually believe his tens of thousands of lies. What considerations could possibly blind people to the total fraud that Trump actually is? Those are the problems that need to be addressed or the us vs. them mentality will continue to prevail to the detriment of our society and the planet..

  4. That was newsworthy? Really? A few crybabies who told everyone to “get over it” 4 years ago can take their own advise? What a crock
