More time for reading

The global pandemic has been horrendous on most counts, but it has meant more reading time for our family. We like to shop at local bookstores, such as The Book Seller in Grass Valley. We also belong to a fun book club called “Literati,” where we’ve received books curated by Joseph Campbell, Richard Branson and others.

Good reading abounds, even in the era of Hulu and Disney +. “As 2020 comes to a close, I wanted to share my annual lists of favorites,” writes Barack Obama in a new Facebook post. “I’ll start by sharing my favorite books this year, deliberately omitting what I think is a pretty good book – “A Promised Land” – by a certain 44th president. I hope you enjoy reading these as much as I did.” (Shannon is reading “A Promised Land.”)
