Supreme Court to Trump: Stop

“During the past four years, President Donald Trump has challenged the integrity of the Supreme Court and tried to drag the justices into the legal muck with him,” as CNN is reporting.

“His arguments have pushed the boundaries of the law and his assertions have tested the impartiality of individual justices.

“But Trump’s meritless attack on the November election and his loss to Joe Biden in a brazen lawsuit initiated by the Texas attorney general brought the court into a wholly new realm.

“The high court slapped down the case promoted by Trump on Friday, three days before the Electoral College will meet to cast votes for Biden as the winner of the November election, with no noted dissents.”

  1. Please tell me this glimmer of hope becomes the ray of sunshine we are all looking forward to! An independent Supreme Court is a promising omen.

  2. What we hope for — and I fear it’s too much to expect – is the day when it’s possible to read or watch the news with no mention of Trump, no image of Trump, the day when he is no longer the dumpster fire spectacle that the media monetizes.

It reminds me how — only a few weeks after his inauguration — Jane and I decided that speaking his name was so like a profanity that we set up a penalty jar, into which we each had to pay a fine of $1.00 for mentioning his name, and $2.00 for mentioning it in conjunction with the word, “President.” After just a few weeks we had enough accumulated in the jar to send to the NRDC, thus transforming a profanity into something of social value.

Here’s a pic of the jar (not sure this embed will work):

  3. Check out the Chris Cuomo interview with our bootlicker Doug LaMalfa. It’s on CNN from friday night. What a joke.

  4. I’m looking forward to the confirmation of the EC votes today then onto the next glorious day (other than Christmas) of 1/20/21
