It’s easy to want to forget 2020, thanks to COVID 19 and other global things. But Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks. I’m thankful for:
-Our family.
-Our long and happy marriage.
-Our son’s latest adventure: Completing his first semester at Johns Hopkins University, where he’s majoring in biomedical engineering.
-Our friendships.
-Our Northern California lifestyle, in Nevada City and Lake Tahoe.
-Though our parents are no longer with us, we live near Shannon’s sisters and can get together.
-Our beloved dog Whiskey as she ages.
-Our extensive travel, which provides happy memories during a COVID-19 quaranteen.
-Swimming at the Yuba Club.
-Our local food.

I am grateful for everything Jeff posted. My son’s accomplishments; their intelligence, grace and empathy. I am grateful for my wife’s resilience, spirit and determination to over come her disability. I am grateful for our friends and community that continue to support us. I am grateful to my coworkers at Nevada Union H.S. who have floated and supported me through these times. I’m grateful to the kids and parents who try!
Now on a darker note:
I’m grateful that I’m not addicted:
I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life.
I’ve never done any drugs in my life. I am so grateful that I’m not addicted to any of that stuff. I’ve seen how those chemicals change brain chemistry and destroy lives. I could have easily gone there, but I didn’t. For that, I am grateful.
Happy Holidays

Thank you Chris!
I am grateful for my family and friends. I am grateful for the beautiful area we live in. I am grateful for the fair and secure election that overwhelmingly gave President elect Biden the win
