“Two right-wing operatives infamous for inventing outlandish conspiracy theories face felony charges in Michigan for allegedly intimidating voters with inaccurate robocalls that discouraged residents in urban areas from casting their ballots by mail,” as The Washington Post is reporting.
“Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman were charged with four felonies of intimidating voters, conspiring to violate election law and using a computer to commit a crime, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Thursday. Thousands of residents from at least five states received the robocall aimed at discouraging absentee voting at a time when many Americans are expected to vote by mail rather than in person during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Each charge against the pair carries a five- or seven-year sentence if they are convicted in Michigan — adding up to a maximum 12 years as some sentences for the charges would be concurrent. Wohl and Burkman, who live in Los Angeles and Arlington, Va., respectively, have not yet been arraigned, Nessel’s office said, adding that it is ‘too early to say if formal extradition will be necessary or if they will present themselves here voluntarily in the very near future.’
“Nearly 12,000 residents with phone numbers from the 313 area code in Detroit were targeted, Nessel’s office said. Attorneys general in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Illinois reported similar robocalls made to urban residents, amounting to an estimated 85,000 calls nationally, according to the Michigan office.”

What a surprise!! LOL! The Republican Party is the minority party and does not represent the values of much more than a third of the population. They realized a long time ago that the only way to win presidential elections is to game the system, and that game is the, antiquated concession to slave states, electoral college. Trump won Michigan by less than 2 votes per precinct in 2016. That’s all it took and it looks like they are at it again. They can’t win an election unless wagging a dog like Bush II did or what Trump is attempting to do with his mail-in-voting fraud spiel and other big lies, combined with voter suppression tactics in urban areas and even disabling the Post Office. The propagandists are able to target people by using the mountain of data collected via internet visits, facebook, twitter, magazine subscriptions, credit card purchases, media consumption, and on and on, the can be purchased from data mining companies and run them through algorithms that are able to tailor make arguments specifically targeting individuals within those swing state/swing precincts. The Russians were doing the same thing in 2016. These guys just got caught.
I saw on NBC news this morning that the CA Attorney General sent a Cease & Desist order to the California Republican Committee to stop putting out fake Ballot Drop Off Boxes in Los Angeles, Orange and Fresno Counties. He said he would prosecute.
For a party that is so worried about voter fraud, they don’t mind commiting voter fraud.
One way to tell what the pubbers are up to is to look at what they are attacking Dems for. Course stacking is the latest. They keep asking Biden if he will stack the Supreme Court. If the hypocrisy of refusing to hold hearings on Merrick Garland with the ‘next President should make the appointment’ argument more than 8 months before the election and now pushing for a new justice less than 40 days before the election isn’t court stacking, what is? They accuse Dems of voter fraud because they are committing voter fraud. They shout about ‘antifa’ and violence because that is what they are promoting with Q-anon, the Proud boys, and the armed moron militias.
