So watching every video, there was a peaceful BLM march, the police stood by and watched as counter protestors confronted, verbally abused, then (police) let it escalate into violence, and there’s been one arrest after the fact.

If that is the best the Nevada City police could do —–were all in big trouble.
You should listen to the City’s special meeting concerning what occurred that day . The PD explanation is quite clear.
Yes- (after looking at the “special meetings”) the PD explanation is quite clear, that they were “unprepared” AND they “lack training”. In 2020. Was it to much to ask any cop there that day to stop these criminals from verbally assaulting ANYONE? Just the verbal assaults alone would NORMALLY be cause for police to intervene. Good police procedure would have brought this to a peaceful outcome.
Body cameras, they’re not just for cops and worth checking out if you plan on attending public political rallies. With Trump firing up his violent goon squads across the country get ready for who knows what might happen, protect yourself, and sue the hell out of any attackers.
