Golden Era Lounge, 309 Broad Street in downtown Nevada City, honored firefighters on Monday night by hosting Firefighters Thanksgiving, a benefit for Wildland Firefighters Foundation. Locals joined firefighters to raise funds and celebrate all fire service personnel and first responders. An antique firetruck was parked out front and Treasurer-Tax Collector Tina Vernon collected donations at the door.

Fire Captain Pat Sullivan, who helped organized the fundraiser, reports this morning: “To all of you that supported and or attended the Firefighters Thanksgiving last night at the Golden Era I offer a heartfelt thanks. Your contribution helped raise $8,000 for the Wildland Firefighters Foundation and aids our fallen and injured fire family members. It was four hours of amazing.”
