What a hoot! George Boardman has another ponderous post on his “blog” this week, handicapping the Sheriff’s race in the November runoff: Shannan Moon vs. Bill Smethers.
Except this so-called journalist — The Union’s weekly columnist — forgot to mention he wrote this back in May, under the comments of his own blog post no less:
That’s what I’d expect from a journalist whose claim to fame was working for San Mateo Times (now defunct). But Boardman should at least admit his colossal mistake. Instead our crack-jack journalist glossed over the blunder this week:
“Moon finished first in the primary so you have assume she has the lead (in the polling).”
Will at least he got it right this time! LOL.
Boardman at it again today in the Union with total backhanded comments about Reinette Senum. Not sure who should apologize first – The Union or Boardman? So let me-
Reinette- Apologies for the local newspaper and the horrible stuff they sometimes print.
It was a classic case of “damning with faint praise.” Senum runs circles around Boardman — always has.
I read Mr. Boardman’s article and it sounded fair He actually said positive things about Ms. Senum raising awareness with her goat campaign. Some of my neighbors have used goats for brush clearing for years. Next Spring we will actually be borrowing sheep from some folks we know who raise them and say they will do a pretty fair job on our grasses.
In my ancestor’s time fire prevention was all done by selective burning and human hands. Probably because they didn’t have chainsaws or tractors. They were pretty good at creating clearances for their “campoodies”. Probably because they didn’t have Fire departments. Children were also an able workforce and very good at picking up and keeping dwelling areas clean of refuse. Probably because they didn’t have iphones.
It was a backhanded. You too have insulted Reinette, come to think of it. People bring different strengths to the table.
