When did caging kids become the art of the deal?

“Watching President Trump blame Democrats for his administration’s inhumane practice of snatching immigrant children from their parents at the border evokes nothing so much as an abusive husband blaming his wife for the beatings he delivers:

“Why do you make me do this? I hate doing this! If you’d only be reasonable and listen to me, things wouldn’t have to be this way.

“As anyone paying even minimal attention to politics knows, this immoral policy is not ‘the Democrats fault for being weak and ineffective with Boarder Security and Crime,’ to quote one randomly spelled and capitalized tweet out of three to that effect in a little over 12 hours. It’s not really Republicans’ fault, either — at least not yet.

“Both the Obama and George W. Bush administrations began efforts to curtail the flow of people across the southern border, but neither went so far as to pursue a ‘zero tolerance’ approach that tore apart families en masse. Congress has not passed any bills requiring the practice since then. This bit of nastiness belongs entirely to Mr. Trump — he has made a choice to torment undocumented families — and his attempt to pass the buck is dishonest and gutless. In other words, it’s what we’ve come to expect when Mr. Trump finds himself in an uncomfortable spot.

  1. Jeff Sessions and Steven Miller (the White House own Nazi)are the architects of these concentration camp. The end of civil rights era is led by Alabamans, along with the undoing of anything Obama had a hand in.. An administration without a soul. Without morals. Without a clue.

      1. What a joke (and how pitiful) listening to Rebane and the local rightwingnuts — always light on intellect but heavy on demagoguery — somehow try to justify this hateful action to separate parents and cage their children. It is totally unnecessary except for political bullying. Turning these kids into political pawns to negotiate immigration reform comes from a truly sick mind. Families, of course, can be detained together. Some context is here: (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/16/us/politics/family-separation-trump.html). Rebane et al. apparently forgot that they were immigrants themselves — “white” immigrants, of course. They left out the analysis of the 1924 quota system that let them in, which was blatantly racist, ranking people from all over the world on a kind of hierarchy of “desirability” based on their race and national origin. https://www.history.com/news/the-birth-of-illegal-immigration
A sick puppy mindset, to be sure. Even Trump’s wife is holding her nose, along with the previous First Ladies.

      2. Rooms with “walls built from chain-link fences.” Fox and Friends Steve Doocy tries to explain how the kids aren’t being kept in cages.

  2. Oh my! Our little “fish” is having a meltdown on Rebane’s blog. Can you spell “scum of the earth”? lol.

  3. Four posts in a row on Rebane’s blog from “fish.” Bring out the men in white coats to help this poor fellow!

  4. What a hoot! “Fish” is begging to post here. I tried to post a response to him on Rebane’s blog, but it wouldn’t let me. Funny how that works. George protects his “own,” as if they were in a cage.

  5. I notice “fish” has a big, foul mouth that doesn’t match his cowardly use of “fish” instead of his real name. I suspect he tried it once and his house got egged! lol.

  6. I notice George Rebane, who never had any manners anyway, refers to me as “FUE” on his blog. Going forward, I will refer to him as “pompous ass.” If the shoe fits, wear it”!

  7. WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley will announce on Tuesday that the United States is withdrawing from the United Nations Human Rights Council, a Trump administration source told Reuters.

    1. The old coots have been at it ALL DAY LONG over on Rebane’s and Todd’s blog. Mindboggling.

  8. Pompous ass? You are only scratching the surface. Rebane reigns as Nevada County’s number one narcissist. A real narcissist (and make no mistake, Rebane is a text book example) is invariably a pompous ass as well as a whole slew of other undesirable attributes. The idea that he even maintains a manifesto complete with a dictionary of his own words is certifiably sick.

  9. Trump is retreating after the border policy outcry. Duh! Now the only ones defending it are the ideologues on the local rightwing nut blogs. Go figure! You go, George Rebane. You go, George!

    1. Todd is having a meltdown now that Trump is retreating. Trump played his followers like Todd for stooges. Now they are crying “boo hoo.” ROFLOL.
