What if John Foster became the first $1 a year Sheriff?

The Sheriff’s race is shining a spotlight on “double dipping”:

This is a good first step, but here’s a thought: What if John were to opt instead for a $1 annual salary as sheriff, as some CEOs do (http://www.businessinsider.com/ceos-who-take-1-dollar-salary-or-less-2015-8). After all, his pension as a retired police chief is significant. This would be a real first step toward addressing the “double dip” debacle, just as bad as runaway CEO compensation. And I would applaud it. It might even make the 10 o’clock news! https://transparentcalifornia.com/pensions/2017/calpers/john-b-foster/?pk=14337829

  1. I thought this post was unbecoming of John Foster’s campaign. They should have left it at he would be deferring his retirement if elected. Bringing the other two candidates into it and stating they, too, could double dip too was really reaching. Maybe a little karma was involved in the election results?
