Music in the Mountains names interim Executive Director

I received this email from Music in the Mountains:

“Ginny Riffey has been appointed as Interim Executive Director. She will start to work immediately, overlapping until June 2nd with our present executive director, and will continue while a search is conducted for her permanent replacement.

“Ginny has an extensive history with Music in the Mountains (MIM) in virtually all areas, including as a Board member, chair of Board Development, president of the Alliance volunteer organization, and volunteering in many other capacities. She has already been working with the MIM administration to streamline operations and improve communications. During her working life she served for a stint as Executive Director of one of the Auxiliaries of the Navy Relief Society, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping servicemembers in need.

“We are so lucky and pleased to have Ginny available and willing to ‘step into the breach’ and keep the MIM ship afloat during this challenging time (I couldn’t resist the nautical reference, as her husband, Kent, retired as a Navy Rear Admiral and she spent many years in that milieu… she knows how to run a tight ship!). The Board enthusiastically endorsed her appointment and we are confident that she is going to do a great job in her new role.”
