Trump is expected to exit Iran deal

“President Trump is expected to announce on Tuesday that he is withdrawing the United States from the Iran nuclear deal, European diplomats said after concluding that they had failed to convince him that reneging on America’s commitment to the pact could cast the West into new confrontation with Tehran,” as The New York Times is reporting.

“If the diplomats are correct, the announcement will be the most consequential national security decision of Mr. Trump’s 15 months in office — though it could be eclipsed in coming weeks by his direct negotiation with North Korea’s leader over surrendering its nuclear arsenal.

“One senior European diplomat who has been deeply involved in trying to persuade Mr. Trump to stay in the deal told reporters on Monday the chance that the president would keep the agreement intact was ‘very small.’

“In the 28 months since the arrangement went into effect, international inspectors have said they have found no violations — apart from minor infractions that were quickly rectified.”

  1. trump doesn’t know how to cook, only stir the pot. Obviously, based on his administration’s turnover rate, it’s all about trump asserting his power despite what advisors and common sense dictate. No one can work with him as he is a loose cannon who has no clue what he is doing from one moment to the next. The more controversial his decisions the better, as it is not about governing but about deflecting attention away from his ever mounting legal problems. Of course, the larger question is what is wrong with our political system and society that it would/could ever elevate a mobster to the Oval Office and then ignore lie after lie after lie. #sad

    1. Trump is a psychopath and a malignant narcissist .
CNN’s Amanpour: “I would describe pulling out of this deal [nuke deal] as possibly the greatest deliberate act of self-harm and self-sabotage in geo-strategic politics in the modern era.”
