I’ve enjoyed Saturday Night Live most of my life. When I was a freshman at Cal, we used to gather in the TV room on the sixth floor of Priestley Hall to watch Saturday Night Live. When I went to graduate school at Northwestern, we visited The Second City, whose ties go all the way back to the show’s 1975 premiere and original cast members Gilda Radner, Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi.
We’re still watching SLN. Tonight Ben Stiller lampooned Michael Cohen as Saturday Night Live took on the Trump lawyer after his office was raided by the FBI. What a hoot!

Was randomly trolling the internet tonight, and came across your post.
UC Berkeley Priestley Hall? Hell yeah, I was there with you. I was your roomie. I was a physics major. You were a journalism major. I think we got along well. Hope you have the same recollection.
Well, perhaps, other than the night when you clacked away on your manual typewriter pounding out a final paper while I was trying to sleep …
You graciously invited me to spend a night at your parent’s house. Saratoga, I believe, if memory serves. I have fond memories of your Mom and Dad. Truly excellent people.
Anyway, I’m married (20 years) now and living in SoCal and would love to reconnect with you and yours if that’s possible.

My gosh! How wonderful to hear from you after all these years. Indeed,”the internet is changing the way we communicate “(my mantra on this blog). I think about you often. Our son is a “straight A” STEM student (skipped journalism but writes for his school’s paper) and just the other day I was telling him about you and the “The Feynman Lectures on Physics,” which you introduced me to ( as a pitiful journalist; ha!). I told him you were a science “brainiac.” And I remember you being bummed about my typewriter for a paper on Joan Didion’s “Slouching Toward Bethlehem”in the Cal English course. As for me, I went on to graduate school at Northwestern, where I received a graduate journalism degree. My first job was at the Fort Lauderdale newspaper, then I got hired at The Chronicle, returning to California to be closer to family. Twelve years later, I helped start CNET, an internet company that was sold to CBS, and after that my wife and I “semi-retired” in the Sierra foothills, where we publish a regional magazine (SierraCulture.com). We “toggle” between our home in Nevada City,

Appreciate the “brainiac” sobriquet. But it’s clearly not true. Else I would have immediately recognized that the correct plural possessive of parents is parents’, not parent’s. I blame it on the beer (still a favorite hobby).
