“No one in your county has more power than your sheriff — not the Legislature, not Congress, not even the president of the United States, according to author and former Graham County, Ariz., Sheriff Richard Mack,” according to a press release introducing Mack the last time he came to town — in 2013. The event was hosted by The Nevada County Republican Women Federated.
Mack’s extremist views are outlined here and here. Sheriff Royal was going to introduce Mack at that event, but he dropped the plans after learning more about his beliefs. More background on some of Mack’s admirers are here.
And now “Sheriff” Mack is riding back into town. Mack will host a Nevada County Tea Party “Candidate Forum” on March 23 at the Foothill Event Center, according to the group’s website. “There’s going to be a NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN this June! Will he or she keep their Oaths of Office?” it continues.
I can’t think of a more inappropriate host.
The Tea Party also has been offering “constitution classes”: Join friends and neighbors for a wonderful opportunity to learn about American history, the underlying biblical principles on which our government is based, and the history of the drafting and ratification of the Constitution of the United States.

This is the same neighborhood where George Boardman lives! Go figure.
Is this paid gig for Mack? I wonder if the topic of assault rifles will be discussed. How many millennials do you suppose will attend? For that matter, how many people under the age of 60 or registered Democrats will attend? I thought sheriff’s were supposed to be non-partisan. All of the candidates should respectfully decline to participate in this obviously partisan event. Has the TP given any indication as to who they will support?
Just another thought after reading the TP webpage announcement: What is the TP’s stand on sanctuary cities and how the “power to refuse to enforce federal laws” mantra will fit into that scenario?
It gets worse with “Sheriff” Mack! https://www.rawstory.com/2018/02/arizona-gop-candidate-compares-parkland-survivors-hitler-asks-reporter-put-touch-teens/
