The Union columnist Boardman runs yet another correction

“CORRECTION: I wrote last week that the president of Google cut short a family vacation in Africa to return to California to fire an employee. The CEO had completed a business trip to Africa and cut short a family vacation in California.”

No kidding! I identified this one last week. Line editing and content editing was never a strong suit at The Union; management hobnobbing with “good old boys” is valued much more. Podunk.

  1. Thank goodness we have the likes of R.L. Crabb and George Boardman holding down the fort for our little newspaper! Who cares if The Chronicle — Northern California’s biggest newspaper — has never heard of them, let alone hired them.

  2. When R.L. Crabb purports to speak for our towns — using the proverbial “we” — does he know that most people don’t read The Union and have never heard of him? Small towns are a hoot!

    1. As he ages, Crabb has become a proverbial “legend in his own mind.” No, Bob, most people don’t read The Union and have never heard of R. L Crabb and his “illustrious” little cartoon. I should have gone along with a former publisher of The Union when he proposed cutting the cartoon to cut costs. Or the CFO who said she “didn’t understand it.” Small towns are a hoot!

  3. Now “Bored Georgeman” is lashing out at me instead of just accepting that he runs a lot of corrections at the bottom of his column. More than ANY other columnist. Wish The Union could find someone who is more talented.
