George Boardman’s weekly column in The Union has become a laughingstock for its volume of corrections. But poor George is the last to know.
“On a more prosaic level, reporters and editors at any mainstream newspaper will tell you they spend a lot of time trying to verify tips, rumors and claims that come their way,” Boardman writes in this week’s column. “The vast majority of this hot news doesn’t pass the smell test and never sees the light of day.”
I wonder if The Union realizes how dumb it appears to all of us when it continues to publish this column.
