Trump campaign officials had repeated contact with Russian intelligence

“Phone records and intercepted calls show that members of Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election, according to four current and former American officials,” as the New York Times is reporting.

“American law enforcement and intelligence agencies intercepted the communications around the same time they were discovering evidence that Russia was trying to disrupt the presidential election by hacking into the Democratic National Committee, three of the officials said. The intelligence agencies then sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election.

“The officials interviewed in recent weeks said that, so far, they had seen no evidence of such cooperation.

“But the intercepts alarmed American intelligence and law enforcement agencies, in part because of the amount of contact that was occurring while Mr. Trump was speaking glowingly about the Russian president, Vladimir V. Putin. At one point last summer, Mr. Trump said at a campaign event that he hoped Russian intelligence services had stolen Hillary Clinton’s emails and would make them public.”

    1. They have always ignored the truth and embraced the lies and transgressions because they are blinded by their political beliefs and will believe whatever it takes to support their point of view, true or not.

      1. Very true Joe. The silly comment aimed at Hilary’s great column by calling it “fake news” is proof of what you posted.

  1. And here’s yet ANOTHER example of “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up”: at today’s news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Trump was asked a question about the sharp rise in anti-Semitic incidents throughout the U.S. since his election. In what may go down as one of his most bizarre–not to mention inappropriate–comments to date, Trump responded by bragging about his Electoral College victory: “306 Electoral College votes. We were not supposed to crack 220. They said there was no way to 221 but then they said there was no way to 270. And there’s tremendous enthusiasm out there.”

Huh????? What on earth does ANY of that have to do with anti-Antisemitism? Oh, that’s right: it’s all about The Donald. I almost forgot.

    1. You have to wonder what Netanyahu was thinking during that Trump ramble, maybe something about at least Obama was sane.
