The history pile of local right-wing thinking

Russ Steele summed it up himself on George Rebane’s blog:

“CABPRO Report last post was April 2012.

“Light on Nevada County last post was February 2014.

“NC Media Watch last post was October 2013.

  1. Interesting timeline…

I am looking forward to the annual posting of the peaceful and pious Christmas images on George and Todd’s web sites….with visions of sugar plums …and peace on earth….and good will toward men…and exclamations of Christian values….and snowflakes…and love of family….a warm hearth welcoming to all…

…followed by rampant racism, sexism, Islamophobia, immigrant bashing, homophobia, allusions to white supremacy and race separation, ala’, “why can’t we just live as we want and be left alone to live in our communities of like minded culture…” and attacks on people’s weight, looks, past foibles or mistakes, whether real or imagined, and mean spirited questioning of others choices in life.

It is like we have a whole group of Christians who live in a Christian ‘bizarro world’…not that there aren’t seculars who live in the same kind of bizarro world… but I feel compelled to call it out on the Christians at this time of the year because they are so pumped up with the spirit.

Sorry for the pre-Christmas pre-emptive strike…but I know so many kind hearted, well meaning, genuinely good doing Christians that it makes me sick every year.

  2. Helpful explanation:

    FRIDAY, DEC 23, 2016 11:50 AM PST
Conservatism turned toxic: Donald Trump’s fanbase has no actual ideology, just a nihilistic hatred of liberals”

” One can read a billion think-pieces about Trump’s divergence from traditional conservatism, but the reality is that “traditional” conservatism doesn’t exist anymore, outside a few enclaves of (ha ha) coastal elites. Conservatism as practiced by most Republicans is an ideology built on one single principle: Pissing off the liberals. And no one excels at that more than Donald Trump.”

  3. And then there is this today. Once again whether its local or national Republicans, “you can’t make this stuff up”.

Reince Priebus released a message to celebrate Christmas.
“Over two millennia ago, a new hope was born into the world, a Savior who would offer the promise of salvation to all mankind. Just as the three wise men did on that night, this Christmas heralds a time to celebrate the good news of a new King.”
“The combination of the words “this Christmas” and “new King” had people wondering whether the GOP was comparing Donald Trump to, well, Jesus.”
