Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton took some heat for calling some of Trump’s loud, nasty supporters “deplorables.” In our community, Hilary Hodge wrote a thoughtful, emotional column in The Union on Nov. 14 titled “This election is not about winning or losing.”
Here’s how some locals (who are also The Union readers/subscribers) chose to express themselves in responding to the article on The Union’s website:
“Ms. Hodge and all the other crying whining liberals need to grow up. Many of us had to put up with the incompetent, race baiting, police hating, ego maniac Obama for eight years without crying. To you, law and order is a problem and morals, oh my God morals, might just get in the way of your liberal perversions.”
“I am crying that my local paper is publishing this drivel!”
“Tomorrow’s headlines: ‘Liberal tears end drought in California … cause local flooding and safe space sinkholes.'”
“Buck up honey. Life goes on. You are delusional about life and I have great sympathy for you disease. Liberalism is a mental disorder an there is help. … She is a sad sack.”
One thing the gloating Trump voters need to realize is that the president elect did not win the popular vote and many of those that stayed home on election day most likely did so because they could not relate to either candidate. That is a pretty good majority of voters and the slightest wrong move could prove desasterous for the conservatives in two and/or four years.
Trump won with fewer popular votes than Romney lost by in 2012.
I should have written “Trump won with fewer popular votes than Romney’s total in 2012, when he lost.”
Eight years without crying? Now that’s a hoot! I saw/heard a lot of crying and whining from the “disordered”. Hilary’s column nailed it and she exercised her first amendment rights like any proud American.
Barry Pruett now goes to Todd Juvinall’s blog and calls me “Kim Jeffie Un.” If I cared about him I’d recommend a heavy dose of anger management training.
Is “fish” married?
Not sure, but he certainly is droll.
Is it droll to tell fat jokes?
It’s going to be tough for our local “deplorables” not that our county is going blue.
Body shaming is sick and increasungly less tolerated as in the case of the health club employee who posted a photo of a middle aged client in the shower and then made cruel remarks.
Drolleries are lame and unfunny jokes.
