Forget AT&T-Time Warner — look what Apple-Disney brings

Forget the proposed merger between AT&T and Time Warner. Look what an Apple-Disney combination brings us. In this case, it is a fun commercial featuring Pinocchio of Disney fame and “Beats By Dre,” a headset-earphone maker now owned by Apple. It touts streaming music via wireless headsets — the wave of the future. The iPhone 7 has no headphone jacks. Some names seen in the commercial include musicians DJ Khaled, Pharrell Williams, and Nicki Minaj, and actors like Rebel Wilson and Steve Buscemi.

This video, titled “Got No Strings,” now has over 12 million views since it was published on October 17.

For the record, Apple’s market capitalization stands at over $612 billion, while Disney’s stands at over $150 billion. Disney CEO Bob Iger is on Apple’s board. He has called Apple TV the “best television interface ever.” And the late Steve Jobs’ wife, Laurene, manages the Laurene Powell Jobs Trust — making her Disney’s largest shareholder (7-8 percent), thanks to Disney’s acquisition of Pixar in 2006. Jobs and Iger were friends. Who knows what the future holds. Ha!
