On the Sierra Vintners’ Wine Trail

IMG_6514We enjoyed Sierra Vintners’ Wine Trail this weekend, visiting Smith Vineyards, Bent Metal Winery and Pilot Peak Winery, among others. At Smith Vineyard, Gary and Chris Smith were on hand to pour the winery’s 2013 Primitivo, which won a “Best of California” honor at the California State Fair — a major coup for our region’s wineries.  Bent Metal Winery owners Scott and Judy Brown were excited about opening a new tasting room in downtown Grass Valley. (More on that next week). And Pilot Peak’s owners — the Wilsons and the Stevens — were hosting guests on the winery’s terraced gardens.

Tomorrow our family is going to California WorldFest, which is now 20 years old. Executive Director Julie Baker and her crew have worked hard on the lineup and activities.
