Local newspaper touts its journalism honors — with a front-page typo

You can’t make this stuff up!

The Union is touting journalism honors (from a trade group for community newspapers) on the same day it has a glaring typo on the front page — above the fold, no less.

“Man overcomes lose (sic) to be a photographer, rock climber.” Does The Union mean “loss”?

This  is making the rounds on Facebook with one comment from a local school teacher: “As I once typed to my students on an assignment sheet ‘Be sure and proffread!'”

As for the honors The Union is gloating about, one judge praised an article because it was “error free.” Well, congratulations then!
