New Assistant District Attorney appointed

“The County is pleased to announce that Joe Alexander has been appointed the new Assistant District Attorney. Joe Graduated from UC Davis, King Hall School of Law in 1998 and has been a prosecutor ever since, first with Sacramento County and then for the last 15 years with El Dorado County. Joe has prosecuted a variety of serious and violent felony cases.

“In 2010, Joe helped secure a death penalty verdict for the murder of CHP Officer Douglas ‘Scott’ Russell. In 2013 he was named the Prosecutor of the Year by the Area II California Narcotics Officers Association. Most recently, Joe has been the lead attorney for the El Dorado County Special Victim’s Unit, responsible for the supervision of attorneys who prosecute domestic violence, child molestation and adult sexual assault cases. Joe also lead the ‘cold case’ murder team.

“Joe has served as the coach for the UC Davis National Mock Trial Team and as President of the El Dorado County Criminal Attorneys Association. In his off hours Joe, his wife Kristen and their two children enjoy mountain biking, skiing, camping and all things outdoors.”

  1. Great resume, and I notice his tie hangs just right. Too many men let their ties hang too short. Or maybe they have “clip ons.” LOL.
