Nevada County Board of Education mulls building purchase

I received this email from the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools:

“At its Wednesday, March 9th meeting, the Nevada County Board of Education will consider the purchase of a building located at 380 Crown Point Circle. This purchase will allow the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools office to consolidate several existing facilities into a single location. This consolidation will result in substantial cost savings as well as greater operational efficiency. The Nevada County Superintendent and Board began the search for a new facility in 2011 after it was determined that the existing facility was too small to house many of the office’s operations and lacked adequate parking and meeting space. At that time, the Superintendent’s office was leasing several separate facilities to accommodate its programs and operations. It was determined that a consolidation into a single large facility could result in substantial cost savings and greater efficiency. Finding the ideal facility took several years. Fortunately, the Crown Point Circle facility meets these requirements and will result in an annual savings of approximately $60,000 per year for the first 15 years, and considerably more beyond that time.”
