Carol Guild is new features editor at the Auburn Journal

We are up in Tahoe for a few days, working, celebrating the holidays and Shannon’s birthday. The fresh snow has been great. We ate dinner at Restaurant Trokay for her b-day dinner. Tahoe and Truckee are booming  with visitors this week, and people are excited again.

Today I got a call from Carol Guild, a friend and former colleague at The Union. She happily told me she’d been hired as the new features editor at the Auburn Journal.  This is “hot off the press”: Carol’s name was on the masthead of the Lifestyle section for the first time this past weekend, and her new business cards are being printed.

Some of us who worked together — Carol, Angela Diaz, Robyn Moormeister and myself, among others — regularly keep in touch — on Facebook or by phone. Angela and Robyn each moved to the “Coast.” We all have a few laughs. Congratulations Carol! What a great way to begin the New Year!
