You will have an opportunity to ride in our handsome new Railbus from the Museum to the Northern Queen Inn; our Grand Opening is expected for mid-May,” according to the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum newsletter “The Headlamp.”

  1. Someday, in a wondrous future, far, far from today, they will rebuild the entire line out to Colfax, trestle and all, and burn just enough wood to give the authentic smell, while utilizing a very efficient heat source for hot steam for motive power and authentic whistle. I love a good choo choo! As a child we drove to the Berkeley station to experience the roar and smell under the University Ave overcrossing. I went back and forth to grandma’s in L.A., when folding cups provided water at both ends of the Pullman cars, and hopped freights as far as Grand Junction. Tales for another day.
