Another Medill “F” for The Union this morning for article

In reading the story “Nevada County Court allows operation of Kendall House” on page 3 (and online) this morning, I noticed the name of one of the main people in the article was misspelled. Her name is “Mollie,” not “Molly” in the third paragraph. This can be easily checked.

If that’s not enough, the name of Mollie’s husband also is misspelled. His name is spelled “Declan,” not “Decklan.”

Misspelling someone’s name (and a prominent name in a story, no less)  gets a “Medill F.” That’s two F’s! The background on a “Medill F” is here.

I also wish that whenever The Union writes about the “Friends of Spring Street” or “Friends of whatever” for that matter, it identifies the people.

When will The Union adopt the professional standards of most “big city” newspapers? Never, I guess. I just don’t think it’s a priority for the management.

The management’s priority is “hobnobbing” around town (“See me!”) or defending the latest indefensible gaffe. Podunk.

  1. The cretins/internet trolls who comment on Todd Juvinall’s blog call this a “nit hunt,” while making fun of Reneitte Senum again. (Reinette rents some space inside this cretin’s head). Ask the people who are quoted in the article (two of them, no less) if it is a “nit hunt”? Ask the Medill professors if this is a “nit hunt”? I have never lived in a place that denigrates education just to make the cretins look as smart as the rest of us. I guess it makes them feel relevant. ROFLOL.

Let’s hope Todd runs for District 1 Supervisor! The results will show his relevancy. ROFLOL again.

  2. “He tosses in a theory that its (sic) anti-education envy,” the cretin writes on Todd’s blog, without signing his name. You can’t fix stupid. LOL.

  3. I will grant our wing nut blogs this: Nothing provides better comic relief from the real-life tasks on a computer. But it is hard to believe that real people (some of whom are locals) are writing this stuff. Merry Christmas!
