  1. Even “fish” is smart enough to see through Gregory Goodknight’s B.S.:

“The Frisch/Pelline lauding a low ‘gun death rate’ in Japan ignores the inconvenient truth that their full homicide rate, including suicides, is higher than ours by a wide margin despite ‘gun deaths’ being virtually zero.
Dead is not less dead if a gun isn’t involved.

Not to pick nits but isn’t it a mistake to lump suicides into the homicide number.”

Hard to believe that Gregory is a Harvey Mudd grad. LOL.

    1. Greg is obsessed with proving he is the smartest in any given room, and loves devious twists to make sure he wins his imaginary game. I once posted a nice aerial of a church, and asked if he recognized it, since he apparently flies every day to San Carlos. The church is all of 11.4 miles from is house, in Smartsville. He had no clue.

  2. Greg Goodknight is an LOL. His claim to fame remains “independent software engineer at my place” (whatever that means), but he now is an expert on “gun death rates.” Goodnight’s premise is absurd, as shown here:

Of course, Gregory (a self-professed math and science hound) doesn’t even understand the math curriculum at UC Berkeley for engineers compared with liberal arts students.

Engineers: “Each Berkeley Engineering major requires Math 1A and Math 1B (two calculus courses) in the freshman year and Math 53 (multivariable calculus) and Math 54 (linear algebra and differential equations) in the sophomore year.”

Liberal Arts: “Satisfying the Quantitative Reasoning Requirement at Berkeley
With course work: The following courses satisfy the Quantitative Reasoning requirement. (Note: Most students who have not fulfilled the requirement prior to admission choose either Mathematics 32 or Statistics 2 to fulfill Quantitative Reasoning.) Any 3-unit course in the Math department (except 15, 24, 39, 49, 84, 96, 98, 103, 160, 199)”

” Math 16A-16B covers much of the same basic topics as Math 1A-1B, but lacks in-depth calculus and so, is less rigorous and demanding.”

Gregory is a shining example of the “big fish, small pond” syndrome in small towns.

  3. If I copyrighted my posts I could make a fortune off of “fish” (AKA David Larsen of Carmichael). All he does is cut and paste them all day. Of course, I don’t think he has any money. Just a big mouth hiding behind a name like “fish.” This pretty much sums up a troll like fish:

This part was fun too: “I think I lost consciousness at this point!”
That was the point where I began describing a university’s math curriculum. We’ve never discussed “fish’s” college education. ROFLOL.

  4. I have never seen someone twist the truth like Greg Goodknight to fit his pro-gun mindset. Of course, he’s also a global warming denier. Even “fish” (no rocket scientist or mental giant) questioned the truthfulness of lumping in suicides with mass killings. This is the most absurd to date. The world of “Rebane’s Ruminations” is about as strange as it gets: George, “fish,” “Bill Tozer,” Greg, Russ and Don Bessee. A handful of people who cling to a blog in a small foothills town — far, far removed from the real world.

    1. Now Greg “working at my place” Goodknight is touting an NRA opinion as “truth.” He needs to get busier at work! I should hire him to drop some magazines in Chico. ROFLOL.

      1. If you ever wondered why Greg seems to have so much time on his hands to blather on George Rebane’s blog, then consider this: “Of course, Jeff commits a clear lie by omission for repeating the original challenge without mentioning he’d recanted the challenge.” Would you hire someone who writes like that? Sounds like a candidate for “Bonehead English” at Cal (or Harvey Mudd). LOL. The point is the same: lumping in suicides with mass murderers is a disingenuous way to discuss how Japan has addressed gun violence compared with America. No one will accept that argument. QED.

      2. Why does “fish” never have anything substantive to say? Answer: Because he is not very bright.

  5. The word around town is that some of the nastiest posts on Todd’s blog will get reposted on “peeps” to showcase what a “citizen” Todd and his foul-mouthed, untruthful internet trolls are. Turns out a growing number of people are sick and tired of these bullies/trolls. Also an effort being discussed to “out” the trolls, making them accountable for what they write/wrote (details here: Should be good political fodder for the local left against the right too, not to mention Todd’s proposed subdivision project in GV (on his land). Imagine community-wide disgust about Todd’s blog being the “swing vote” in the next elections. LOL.

    1. Nevada County Peeps is a family value G rated group on Facebook. They would not tolerate most of Todd’s posts at all. He’s to embarrassed to join Nevada County Vents, where he would be somewhat free to roam, except we have several rules, one of which is no ad hominem attacks that involve swearing, “tards” etc. You can attack the ideas, not the person. There are now a bunch of spinoffs from Vents, beyond my own. Nevada County is very active and alive on Facebook. I even started Nevada County Peeps in Exile for folks tossed out of Peeps.

If you need a sanity break, try Nevada County Vents 3.0.

      1. They will tolerate Todd’s posts when presented as an example of the ugly, hateful world that he lives in — and still exists among a small but declining group of our locals. It must be embarrassing to the long timers. Meawhile, “fish” (David Larsen of Carmichael) is up and at ’em on Rebane’s blog at 7 a.m. Fish needs to get his own blog — or a life. LOL.

      2. This is a hoot! “fish” is talking to himself on Rebane’s blog again in the wee hours of the morning. A long series of comments, including misreading one of them all together, are being ignored. “fish” is going to have to find some new friends on the internet — a pattern I suspect since he’s from Carmichael, not even here. Here’s a look at how “fish” “thinks.” (Where’s Dr. Phil?). He’s starting to remind me of this cartoon character: ROFLOL.

      3. In another incomprehensible rant this morning, “fish” refers to our mountain range as the “Sierras.” No, it’s the “Sierra.” Ah, the uneducated.

  6. Oh no, the trolls on Todd’s blog are getting uglier. Can’t wait to see their real names splashed all over social media. What will their families think?! LOL.
