Bessee joins The Union’s own “Algonquin Round Table”

The Algonquin Round Table was a celebrated group of New York City writers, critics and wits who gathered at the Algonquin Hotel in the 1920s: Frank Pierce Adams, Robert Benchley and Dorthy Parker, among others.

Well, now The Union is compiling its own “wits” on its illustrious Op-Ed page. This morning Don Bessee joins the likes of Todd Juvinall, George Rebane and others who recently have graced its pages.

Don, whose wit is omnipresent on the hard-right blogs including some of the nastiest/odd remarks imaginable (including calling Reinette Senum “ruinit” or calling Steve Frisch “Frischy”) educates us with something titled “(Marijuana) legalization inevitable. Not so fast.”

Thanks Don. And thanks to The Union. It doesn’t get any better than this — or worse.

  1. Here’s a quote we can attribute to Todd from his blog: “I like to think I have a lot of common sense.” ROFLOL.

  2. And here’s another witticism from Todd on George Rebane’s blog:
“Bernie the old fool and Hillary the ‘bimbo’ are the best the democrats have. Soon one will be in jail and the other will need a oxygen tank. Republicans will prevail. At least they have a brain.

And “Dr. D” (is “d” for dumbling?) on Todd’s blog thinks this is the stuff of genius! Let’s put it up to a community vote “Dr.D” ROFLOL.

  3. I’ve received numerous emails from people hoping that Todd runs for Supe, as he promises. It would help him understand how unpopular and unliked he is. I suspect he knows that, so he never will. After all, the people who comment on his blog don’t even sign their names. Not much of a “friendship circle.” ROFLOL.

  4. People like Todd are immune to self awareness and criticism. How people feel about him will never penetrate his bubble. It’s the intrinsic “self protection” of pathology. And he only surrounds himself with other like individuals.

  5. Reviewing the comments on that erroneously written letter had no one supporting Bessee. As much as it is freedom of choice to do so, I guess he enjoys being the laughing stock of Alta Sierra.
