Editor’s note: Tech is cool. This email popped up on my iWatch while we were on I-80, going from Reno to Nevada City this afternoon. We grabbed some lunch in Truckee and posted from our laptop. To Cheri’s credit, she sent it to all the media at once, not just some of the media. The internet is changing how we communicate!
“Cheri West, a long time Nevada City resident announced today that she will be running for County Supervisor in 2016.
“‘Public safety, protecting our special Nevada County quality of life, and bringing opportunities to our community so our kids don’t have to leave the county to find jobs are my priorities. That said, I look forward to meeting every voter in the district in the coming months and hearing what they have to say and what they think,’ said West.
“Cheri attended Nevada Union High School, Sierra College and graduated from Sacramento State with a degree in Biology.
“Cheri is a registered dental hygienist and has worked in the California Legislature as a Legislative Director for more than a decade. She is currently Legislative Director and Deputy Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Brian Dahle and works in the Capitol and Grass Valley offices.
“‘Cheri is a tireless fighter for the people of Nevada County. She has the know how and experience to solve problems inside government. Her record of accomplishments and the hundreds of local constituents she has helped speaks volumes about her professionalism,’ said Dahle.
“She is married to Jim West and is the mother of three grown children. Like most moms she has served on numerous community and nonprofit boards.”
(Cheri was at the Bridgeport Bridge restoration ceremony, and I found this photo here).
