Keith Davies, Co-CEO of the Greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce, announced that city planning commissioner and former councilwoman Yolanda Cookson has joined the chamber of commerce staff as executive assistant and membership retention manager — a report that had been circulating for about a week.
The press release did not mention that Cookson also is Dan Miller’s campaign manager — an issue that set some tongues wagging when the rumors began. Miller is running against Terry Lamphier for District 3 supervisor. The press release is here.
The Chamber is supposed to be politically nonpartisan, so I hope it honors its mission. Dan Miller, Chamber co-CEO Keith Davies and recent board member Patti Ingram are all longtime friends and political allies.
Miller and Davies have been “good friends” since high school, Davies once said in a vague proposal to build a mega-resort in the western county.
The Penn Valley Chamber recently sent out a campaign fundraiser invitation for Supervisor Hank Weston at the County Contractor’s Association.
