“2013 (sic) Chamber Buying Guide” and member directory published in The Union in 2014

I’m convinced that our community has outgrown its local newspaper, because The Union is so inept.

This morning’s edition of The Union has published the “2013 Chamber Buyers’ Guide” for the greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce (see pages 8, 9, 10, 20, 21, 22, 31, 32, 33 and 34) as a “valuable reference tool.” It’s going to be handed out all year. Today it was an insert in roughly 15,000 copies of the newspaper.

Really? 2013. It’s 2014, a New Year.

The Union also has touted its own for-profit event on its front page with the online caption, “Chocolate cupcakes made by Elily’s (new) Catering and Cakes on display at Chocolate Infusion Sunday, at Miners Foundry in Nevada City.”

Really? “Elily’s” It’s Emily’s. A local business. The mistakes are endless.
