Our magazine launches m.SierraCulture.com during Bay Area Travel & Adventure Show

From the blog of Sierra FoodWineArt magazine:
Sierra FoodWineArt magazine is launching a new mobile website geared for travelers during the Bay Area Travel & Adventure Show at the Santa Clara Convention Center this weekend.

The show — one of the largest of its kind — is drawing 15,000 visitors this weekend, including speakers such as travel legend Rick Steves and Samantha Brown, host of Travel Channel’s Great Weekends.

Sierra FoodWineArt is distributing its new winter issue at the show and marketing the new mobile website. “Now, to ring in the new year, we are launching a new mobile website, which we believe is the most robust for any lifestyle magazine or travel website in our region,” according to the introduction in its magazine. “And it’s free, just like our magazine.”

The mobile website is an “on the go” guide for visitors and travelers — when they’re traveling on I-80, or Hwys. 49, 50, 20 or 89, in our region’s towns or enjoying the outdoors. Unlike an “app,” it doesn’t have to be downloaded. You merely type SierraCulture.com into your iPhone or smartphone, and it automatically appears.

“Thanks to features like GPS, tech tools like the iPhone are great for the traveler looking for hotels or restaurants or information,” said John Golicz, CEO of Connecticut-based Unicomm, which hosts the travel show, told the San Jose Mercury News.

Highlights of m.SierraCulture.com include directories and GPS mapping for dining and nightlife, wine tasting, beer tasting, lodging & B&B, spa & wellness, weddings, art galleries and theaters, Tahoe-Truckee ski resorts, visitor attractions and parks — even pet friendly travel. All of the magazines article and blog posts — more than 1,000 of them — are tailored for smart-phone readers.

•Specific guides and content for Truckee-Tahoe, Grass Valley, Nevada City and Auburn.

•An interactive regional events calendar and artist registry.

•Real-time weather reports and webcams.

•Social media integration with Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

SierraCulture.com promotes food, wine & beer, art & music and travel for Tahoe, Truckee, Grass Valley & Nevada City, and Placer and Nevada County CA.

Its magazine is being distributed at the Nevada County booth, one of 200 exhibitors. The show continues Sunday. Visit SierraCulture.com on your iPhone or smartphone.
