From the Emma Nevada House Facebook page:
“As of yesterday we are now the proud new owners of INVERNESS VALLEY INN in Point Reyes California. The property sits on 14 acres leading into Point Reyes Seashore National Park. There are 20 cottages, 8 two bedroom and 12 one bedroom units with kitchenettes. There is a saline swimming pool, hot tub, tennis courts and hiking trails. Andy has moved over to the new property and I will remain at the Emma Nevada until the first of April. Kathryn and Jim Doolittle will be the new Innkeepers at the Emma Nevada House. We are thrilled! We are eager to have our Emma Nevada House friends and Nevada City neighbors visit us at our new adventure. Phone # 1-800-416-0405, love, Andy & Susan.”

Jeff ~ Interesting, serendipitous connection here: A LadyFriend and I were guests at the Inverness Valley Inn many years ago, when it was in a sad state of repair. I remember taking a skinny dip in the algae-scumed pool to cool my passion!
Later on, I participated in a nighttime S.W.A.T. call-out there, when the operator went a tad crazy. Due to some extraordinary bravery on the part of one of my deputies, all was resolved without injury, and off he went to the Funny Farm.
I just chatted with Andy and will be contacting him in March when I have a booksigning at the Marin History Museum.
As an aside, we enjoyed local author Chris Enss’ presentation for the Nevada County Historical Society last night and purchased four of her books about the Wild and Wooley Women of the West, including one resident of your current home town. She’s our kind of gal! See http://www.chrisenss.com
A further aside: You might want to cover the Second Amendment reinforcement demonstration in River City tomorrow, also occurring in 46 other State Capitols.

We love Pt. Reyes. We’ve stayed there at “Ferrando’s Hideaway” and …
… the unbelievably beautiful “Blackthorn Inn.”
Now we can’t wait to check out the Inverness Valley Inn.
(Whoops, the last sentence above shouldn’t have been a link)
Congratulations Andy and Susan on your new adventure and the best of success. I know you will have great success in your new venture. Our loss is their gain! I am sorry that The City was not more helpful in your project, but then again hindsight is 20/20 !
