“DETROIT — Winter is making its upcoming arrival known in these parts, what with the frigid temperatures that have fallen upon Motown,” according to MLB.com.
“But if the Tigers don’t change the current course of this World Series on Sunday night, their winter will arrive immediately. And it would be a long one.
“History tells us that we are on the cusp of a Giant celebration, and only the Tigers can prove otherwise. For them, Game 4 at Comerica Park (8 p.m. ET air time on FOX, 8:15 first pitch) is their last chance to make this some semblance of a series. Otherwise, the Giants, who hold a 3-0 edge in the best-of-seven Fall Classic, will walk away with their second title in three years.

Impressive series for Giants fans, not so much for those who just want to be entertained watching a competitive World Series.
The Giant Bochy Brain is making a DH change: Sanchez is OUT and Theriot is IN. From the Comical blog:

“UPDATE, 1:10 p.m.: You had to figure manager Bruce Bochy would pick a new DH after Hector Sanchez struck out three times in an 0-for-4 last night. He’s going with Ryan Theriot, who thus can have a direct hand in securing his second World Series ring in as many years. He played for the Cardinals in 2011.
Tigers catcher Alex Avila has been scratched with a wrist injury.
The Giants’ lineup:
Pagan CF
Scutaro 2B
Sandoval 3B
Posey C
Pence RF
Belt 1B
Blanco LF
Theriot DH
Crawford SS
ORIGINAL POST: It’s 48 degrees with a wind-chill of 40, much colder-feeling than yesterday at this time. No biggie for the players, but not terribly comfortable for the fans.

Matt Cain looks to become the only pitcher in major-league history besides the Yankees’ Andy Pettitte in 2009 to start and win all three clinching games of a postseason.
The Giants are attempting to join the 1998-2000 Yankees as the only team to win at least two World Series over three years since the six-division, wild-card format was created in 1995.
Also, the Giants are six innings away from matching the 2004 Red Sox for the longest streak ever in one postseason for a team not to trail. The current 54-inning streak is tied for second-longest with the 1989 A’s.
As mentioned yesterday, the consecutive shutouts in Games 2 and 3 were the first in the World Series since the 1966 Orioles over the Dodgers. But the last National League team to do it was the 1919 Reds over the White Sox, who supposedly threw the games.

If I doubt anything Bochy does at this point I should have my head examined, if not replaced.
He could start an outfield of Mr. Peanut, Speedy Alka-Seltzer, and the Michelin Man and I’d be totally cool with it.”
OOO!…OOO!…OOO!…..
Let me second guess!
I would go with Sandoval at DH and Arias at third. Add a little more defense. It must be a lefty-righty thing.
I wonder what the record is for 3 consecutive shutout games in a world series….I am searching the record and can’t find one….I will just be happy with a sweep though!
Ah, well….Baltimore had 3 consecutive shutouts versus the Dodgers in the 1966 world series..
