The Executive Committee of the Nevada County Economic Resource Council (ERC) accepted the resignation of its interim executive director Jon Blinder at its regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday afternoon.
The Committee wishes to acknowledge the outstanding and invaluable job Mr. Blinder has done for the ERC since early 2012. At a recent meeting hosted by the cities and county, Mr. Blinder presented a state-of-the-art ERC report. Local government and community members commended his efforts and the impressive progression of the organization under his leadership.
Executive Committee members think highly of Mr. Blinder and hope the best as he focuses his attention on resolving recent issues that have surfaced for him personally.
The Committee is developing a plan of action for transition. “We have an extremely strong and talented Board.” commented Kimberly Parker, ERC Board Chair. “Upcoming activities as the Economic Forecast Conference on October 24 will move forward as planned.”
The mission of the Nevada County Economic Resource Council is “to enhance the economic vitality of Nevada County by supporting the retention, creation and attraction of quality jobs, while retaining our unique environment.”

I am proud to be a friend of Jon Blinder. I cannot imagine Grass Valley or our community without the work Jon has done. The Center for the Arts, the Arts Collaborative, now Nevada County Arts, and his work at the ERC are all worthy examples of who Jon Blinder is. I want to publicly thank Jon for his work and have always been proud to be associated with him.
What Howard said. Jon has worked hard in the best interest of our community.
