Grass Valley City Council member Jan Arbuckle is circulating a letter seeking campaign donations, including singling out a box to check for a $99 donation (as opposed to $100, for example).
It reads: $25; $35; $50; $99 ; $200* and other.
Why? “*State Law requires us to report all donations over $99 and must include your occupation and employer.”
Jan lists herself as an “independent” voice. For the record, this “independent” voice has received the endorsement of the local Republican Central Committee.

In looking up information about this and other races, I found an interesting abnormality, in that our local news is of such importance it has hit it bigtime in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

Given the registration of Grass Valley, not so sure she really benefits from the local RNC. I met her for the first time at a Democratic Party event, and was up front with Registration as Republican. Smart politics? WONDER if DEMS endorsed her if Repubs would withdraw thiers, of if once was solicited from DEMS in the first place. Bigger question is does the local GOP endorsement in non-partisan races (yea, right, expecially around here non-partisan has become a joke) mattter a hill of beans?
