The Midwest college town of Iowa City is bracing for chaos this weekend, with an Obama campus rally adding to the Iowa State-Iowa football rivalry.
My wife is headed there to watch her nephew and the rest of the Iowa State team play Iowa in a big college matchup. He has reserved a ticket for her in the ISU section. “Don’t wear red or you’ll be heckled mercilessly,” he told his aunt in a serious tone. It is a rowdy crowd, that’s for sure.
She’ll miss the Obama rally, though.
My son and me will drive to Lake Tahoe for the day to watch the intra-state rivalry on the obscure “Big Ten Network” via a DISH satellite. Comcast of Nevada City doesn’t carry the channel — even with sports package upgrades.
