Honoring my father, a great warrior for this country.
He fought for the Honey Lake Valley and Susanville, his home.
Never far from my thoughts, forever in my heart.
In re-reading the Military Times article I noticed it mistakenly cited Iowa as his home.
In fact, Iowa was where my mother took me to stay with her sister and give birth to my brother, while dad was fighting in Korea.
In all, after WWII and Korea, dad accumulated another bronze and silver star as well as five clusters on his Purple Heart. (Only one Purple Heart is awarded a soldier, subsequent wounds are awarded oak leaf clusters to be placed on the medal’s ribbon.
Just wanted to clear that up.

Jeff, any idea when they will “revel” the winner of the Duck Race?
