Just returned (in June) from a trip to Costa Rica. $25 each way for bag check, $150 each way for my surfboard, brought my own food aboard, packed into a 757 like sardines because they oversold the flight twice over, and then see a guy with a set of golf clubs fly with no extra charge. I like golf, but….
American Airlines was just done telling their employees that they were going to take the pilots pension while going bankrupt. Happy travels everyone- friendly skies is totally a thing of the past, unless your rich enough to travel first class. Golden Days? No gold here-
My wife was a flight attendant with Continental. Now she is with United due to the merger. She flies international (Pacific) and has no desire to fly domestic “bus” routes. Outsourcing, short sighted executives, bean counters and low employee morale have ruined a once fun business.
It’s all a dollar squeeze now and the customer is the victim. Remember 32 inch pitch for coach seats? It’s now 31 inches and soon to be 30. But guess what? If you take an inch out of every seat row for 30 coach rows, you can squeeze in another 6 seats.
