Local GOP leaders still can’t get enough of hard-righter politicos, such as McClintock and Logue

Tom McClintock has largely been redistricted out of our county, except for a tiny sliver of Democratic Truckee. But the local GOP leadership apparently can’t get enough of Tom, the career politician out of Southern California.

The same goes for Dan Logue, who voluntarily bailed on our district to run in the flatlands. “I have 10 houses in the 3rd Assembly District, so I am just going to pick one of the houses that I already own and we will be residing there,” as Logue reminded us.

The newly drawn 3rd District includes western Butte County, taking in Chico, Paradise, Oroville and Gridley. It also includes Marysville, Yuba City, Colusa, Red Bluff and Corning, along with other communities.

In our neck of the woods, both have become “yesterday’s lettuce” politically. Nonetheless, both McClintock and Logue are touted as “invited speakers” at the county Republican Party BBQ on August 25, along with some others. (Click for larger image).

Since our county politics are “purple,” not hard right, what if the local GOP asked the “purple man” to come (see below)? I wonder if it would help bring out more moderate GOPers to the picnic — you know, increase the turnout. Or is that the purpose?
