A swimming hole on the South Yuba River has been named one of California’s best, according to a report on KCRA News this weekend.
The swimming hole, which includes a deep pool and waterfall, is just outside of Nevada City.

I’ve never heard it called Mountain Dog. And that used to be my river monitoring spot w/ SYRCL so I know it well…it’s where the lady bugs like to hang in February/March.
The real name is Peggy’s Beach. It’s even carved in stone. Heh.
