“Bruce Nissen, of Colfax, had a dream of leaving the corporate world behind and creating a cider company. In 2004 he did just that, founding Fox Barrel Cider Company. In 2010, Fox Barrel became affiliated with the Crispin Cider Company,” the Auburn Journal is reporting.
“Nissen’s dreams have suddenly changed, as the MillerCoors LLC has acquired Crispin and Fox Barrel.
“He also had a passion for building a company in Colfax that would give back to its community and his employees. ‘My company is a sustainable business, and my goal is to keep Fox Barrel in Colfax,’ Nissen said.
“The production line at the plant located on South Auburn Street is going through extensive upgrades to the equipment that will help meet the demands of higher production to 5,500 bottles per day. New equipment, including a bottling machine and labeling machine, are being installed that is more efficient and that will help run the plant on a 24-hour production line, going from a manual labor to an automated production line. The upgrades will take about four weeks to be completed.”

Now that it is sold to MillerCoors (whom I used to work for when just Miller Brewing Co), I hope he can keep Fox Barrel in Colfax. . . !
