Wow, she is great! And what a resume of past work. I know people at the Center for American Progress. perhaps we could get her here.
I should let you all know that the organization I work for is going to be hosting a presentation by Bill McKibben, noted academic, author, founder of 350.org, in Truckee on April 16th. There will be more information on the Sierra Business Council web site.
Unfortunately, due to space constraints, this first speakers event, in what we are planning to make a regular quarterly series in partnership with Capital Public Radio, is going to be by invitation only. We will tape the event and make video available on-line (no Doug it will not be streamed).
In the future speakers will be hosted in larger venues, open to the public in most cases, and with include better production capability.
We are not soliciting any public sector sponsorship or support for our series so I am sure our choice of speakers should not be controversial in any way.
Bill McKibben is an incredible and inspiring speaker. My son was fortunate to have lunch with him when he spoke at his school a couple of months ago. I believe that encounter has deeply influenced my son’s life and career choices. During that very presentation word was received from the White House that the Canada pipeline project was to be at the very least delayed – so inspiring for the young people in the audience, that activism can be effective.
