“Confrontational politics” is focus of a Sutter-Butte tea party meetup

Here’s what the Sutter-Butte tea party has in the works for a Feb 25 meeting:

Sam Paredes is Executive Director, Gun Owners of California.
The “Confrontational Politics” Seminar is designed to show how strategy and planning can be effective and beneficial in any political arena. The Seminar is focused on training techniques for successful political combat. To quote from the forward of the book by the same name, “to effectively combat the left, we must know how to stand up to them, which means learning the art of effective confrontation.”

Understanding the left and leveraging their mistakes is the goal. Confrontational Politics is strategizing for victory in the next election.
The seminar cost is $10, which includes the book “Confrontational Politics” by H.L. Richardson, coffee, water, and pastries and rolls in the morning. An optional box lunch is offered for $5. Seating is limited, register now!

  1. Good Grief, Charlie Brown. Now where’d I put that darn gun?!

  2. I have a freind who lives among a large contengent of Para Military/Skinhead folks in his community. He tells me that these folks tend to be tea partiers and are talking and preparing for a physical civil war against their own countrymen within the next 20 years. He also shared that these folks are white, not very smart and feel that developing as a bully is their olny way to participate in a society they don’t understand or feel they have any control in. They tend to take the strict constitutional constrictionist view of our Constitution. This means that they do not believe rights and liberties guaranteed in the bill of rights extends to people of color and especially not to women. Strict constructionist views are quite appealing to these folks. However, for the wealthy with these views it is easy to recognize how easily they can manipulate simple minded people to support their agenda, which is a plutocracy.
Well meaning as a simple intrepretation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights is they don’t realize that only wealthy white men with property could vote. For this they will wage a war against “liberals” and themselves.

  3. Sooooo, this TP sect also mixes GUNS and CONFRENTATIONAL POLITICS???

    Nice.

  4. It seems with the advent of the tea people, we’ve also been subjected to an onslaught of so-called self proclimed Constitutional experts, many of whom proclaim their right to own any kind of fire arm, w/o restriction, citing the 2nd Amendment. Of course, this is such a simplistic reading, omitting the ground rules set by the Preamble, and totally oblivious to the founders historical setting and the consciousness of the times, much less even imagining what original intent, strict constructionism, or judicial review. Even lawyers don’t have enough common sense to imagine that handnguns might not be allowed in NYC.
Having lived in TX I’m all to familiar with the idolization of the gun culture, and the mindset and seeming cognitative abilities of the large, fanatic elements of this group. Ann Richards, the wonderfully witty ex-governor of TX, said and firmly believed that she lost the race for a second term on the single issue of allowing Texans to carry hand guns. And y’all know what the consequences of that loss were.
Again we return to the question of the literacy of great portions of the electorate. I was one of maybe two or three who had some college–two years–when I joined the Marines in 1968. My boot camp company included about seven northerners, and 75 southerners. And we had a whole bunch of guys with IQ’s in the 80′s &90′s. One of my best friends became a fellow from the sticks in East Texas, and we’d argue about things constantly. He’d always tell me “You don’t know nuthin”, usually for reasons associated withe facts like I didn’t know how to catch a catfish with my hand in a swamp. Years later, we hooked up again when I was living in Dallas and I visited him and family in the sticks of East TX. We went to some evangelical church twice a day for several hours. Only one source of information counts; their good book. Very scary.
Sorry I write so much; it’s in my nature as a former teacher and published author.
    Cheers,

  5. Mayors call for help-

  6. Just viewed the YouTube video and read the Daily Beast link–I’m usually on my lap top which has problems–but can’t argue with the mayors of big cities. They know what all these guns do. And am a big Giants fan, so that out come was good. But have been to enough gun shows in TX and still have friends where one sells one half of an M-16 and the other sells the other half, since it is illegal to sell the entire, fully automatic M-16. At least, this is how I remember them telling it to me last time I was there for one of the many weddings. And of course one would expect many of those firearms make their way to Mexicican drug cartels. And the culture of so many of the old time Texans–not the newbies migrating down there over the last couple decades–is still deep south in so many ways.( Although I sure could have used a handgun when I was carjacked, and only escaped, beaten, bloody and deep in no mans land.) Almost everyone I know is very conservative, Repbulican, and many of the players the company I worked for spent time in jail (The Savings and Loan debacle of the early to mid eighties) with crooked deals running amok. Only in TX could Bush get a deal with the TX Rangers baseball team and the building of the Stadium, with condemned property, then sell his share for about $15 million–when he never was more than a figure head with a most minimal investment. So many blowhards, we could import them, plant them along the Altamont pass and use them for wind power.
After one too many, “Yer alright fer a Yankee”, and the collapse of the whole Savings and Loan/undeveloped land sales industry, I headed west.
Just the same, if some one is out to get you, surprise is the key, and that handgun you’re carrying may end up shooting yourself in the foot.
    Cheers,
