What you have is not the police blotter, in the sense most of us like. I’ve got it on my todo list to drop by the sheriff’s dept and see just who is allowed access and how. Does it require an in person visit, or can it be done online? Do you have to represent an “official” newspaper, or can any blogger go for it?

It snowed about 2 inches in Truckee over night. A most welcome respite. Unfortunately the rain and snow did not come soon enough for many of our Sierra friends in Reno. Reno is once again suffering the impact of a high wind and low moisture winter, causing Vice President Joe Biden’s trip to the region to be truncated and leading to the loss of more than 20 homes due to wildfire. That’s right, wildfire in January.
