I listened to the game on KNCO while working in the garden. Holy smokes. That was a Dwight Clark kinda game. I was transported back to the 1980s, when I lived in S.F. So very cool…can’t wait till next weekend, when we’ll probably have to deal with the cheeseheads, though I would prefer the Giants.
FWIW, I grew up in the town Brodie lived in while his “illustrious” career was in full swing (Los Altos). I knew and went to scholl with two of his daughters and my friend’s parents were good friends of his. Thanks for reminding me of those long forgotten times.
Tremendous game. S.F. Chronicle had a picture of “the catch” a couple of days ago. I’ll bet everyone remembers where they were for that. Had a great article about the photographer too. It just felt like that kinda year. This years for the memory books. Kate
Nice clip Jeff. Brodie was a true athlete, Stanford boy and SF kid. After his football days he spent time on the Senior PGA Golf tour.
Very exciting SF NO game today. Defense was spot-on, not to mention Smith in the clutch in the waning minutes. I’m happy.
Well said Dave. Thanks for bringing up the Stanford pipeline. It was one reason for showing the clip. It’s a generations-old connection.
