From the county’s Friday memo:

Jessica Hudson has been selected as the new County Librarianto replace MaryAnn Trygg who retires on December 9th. Ms. Hudson has a BS in BusinessAdministration from CSUS and a Masters in Library and Information Science from CSUSJ. She is thecurrent County Librarian for Tehama County and before that spent 10 years working in the Solanoand Placer County library systems. The selection process was very competitive, there were 15 qualified applicants and the top 5 candidates were interviewed before two interview panels.

One panel consisted of the President of the Truckee Friends of the Library, the Vice President of the Western Friends of the Library, the President of the Citizen Oversight Committee and the Chief Information Officer. The second included the City of Rossville City Librarian, Placer County’s County Librarian, the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools, and our Assistant County Executive Officer. From these interviews, two candidates moved on to the final process. We are excited to have Ms. Hudson as part of the County’s Senior Executive team. Her first day in Nevada County will be on Monday December 12th.
